Introduction:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tibet, a country with its own language, culture, and religion, has been standing and thriving with the nature on the Tibetan Plateau for millennia. On February 13, 1913, the Thirteenth Dalai Lama issued the proclamation declaring the independence of Tibet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the People’s Liberation Army of China invaded the east of Tibet in 1949, and forced the Tibetan government to sign the \u201cSeventeen-point Peace Agreement\u201d reaffirming China’s sovereignty over Tibet, which led to a widespread uprising in Tibet on March 10, 1959. Tibet was subsequently annexed by China. The Tibetans have lost their freedom and human rights, and they have been subjected to discrimination and many have been tortured and killed ever since the annexation. In the name of \u201cmodernization\u201d, the Chinese government has attempted to \u201cChinesize\u201d the Tibetans, as a result, Tibet is facing grave depletion of their language, culture, and religion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year marks the sixtieth year of the exile of Tibetans.Over past six decades of calamity and forced migration, the Tibetan people have never lost their hopes. They continue to demonstrate and convey their demands in a non-violent manner. While His Holiness of Dalai Lama and the culture of Tibet bring countless inspirations to modern society, what can we do for Tibet? While China is influencing the world with its sharp power, how can we stop China from exporting to the world the violation of human rights and from repeating the violation of human rights on the Tibet Plateau?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 10, it will be the sixtieth year of the exile of Tibetans. Despite of six decades of calamity, we are still here to defend and support a free Tibet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
